MODULAR CAMPS — FAQ
- What is included in a turnkey modular mining camp?
- A turnkey modular mining camp includes bedrooms, offices, dining hall, infirmary, and sanitary modules (bathrooms and showers). We provide layout design based on the number of people and available space, transport logistics to the site with our own fleet, and technical advisory for camp certification with ART and regulatory bodies.
- How many people can a modular camp accommodate?
- Capacity is fully scalable. A typical camp starts at 20 to 50 people and can expand to 200 or more by adding modules. The number of bedrooms, dining hall, and sanitary units is sized according to the project's shift schedule. For camps over 100 people, we recommend expandable modules for dining and offices combined with foldable ones for bedrooms.
- How long does it take for a modular mining camp to be operational?
- The typical timeline from order confirmation to delivery at the site is 2 to 3 months. Installing a 30-module camp can be completed in 2 to 3 working days. The main advantage over civil construction is that no civil work is required: modules are leveled on adjustable bases and services are connected the same day.
- Are the modules suitable for high-altitude mining and Patagonia?
- Yes. The modules are certified with Grade 10 seismic resistance (GB 50011 standard), Level 11 wind resistance (100–120 km/h), and thermal insulation for conditions from -20°C to +45°C. They are suitable for mining projects in San Juan and Mendoza in the Andes, the Catamarca Puna, and Patagonian fields like Vaca Muerta.
- How are modules transported to a remote site?
- Each 40HQ truck can carry up to 12 foldable modules. Rutas del Sur has its own heavy-load fleet and over 40 years of experience in the Andean corridor. We coordinate door-to-site transport, including authorization procedures for access to high-altitude zones and restricted-load roads.
