Frequently asked questions

International transport
Argentina — Chile.

What documentation do I need to cross cargo into Chile?

International transport Argentina–Chile requires MIC/DTA (International Cargo Manifest), RUCA certification, customs documentation and, depending on the merchandise type, phytosanitary certificates (SENASA/SAG). We coordinate the process with customs brokers in both countries.

How does weather affect the crossing at Paso Cristo Redentor?

The pass may close between May and September due to snow, wind or fog. We monitor conditions in real time and coordinate alternatives when necessary, including Paso Pehuenche for non-oversized cargo.

How long does the Mendoza–Santiago freight take?

Under normal conditions, transit to Santiago is 4 to 6 hours. Customs wait times at the Complejo Los Libertadores can vary. During peak season or with pass restrictions, times extend.

Do you operate in both directions Argentina–Chile and Chile–Argentina?

Yes, we operate the route in both directions. Both exports from Argentina to Chile and imports from Chile to Argentina. Coordinating the return with us reduces costs compared to booking two separate shipments.

Do you have permits for international transport?

Mendoza – Chile international corridor

Crossing to Santiago via the Cristo Redentor Pass

The crossing into Chile is about 360 km from Mendoza to Santiago via RN 7 and the Cristo Redentor Pass (Cristo Redentor / Los Libertadores system), at 3,200 meters altitude. Transit is around 6 to 8 hours under normal conditions, but it depends on the mountain weather and processing times at the Los Horcones customs complex.

This is pure international transport: we handle overland export paperwork —MIC/DTA, CRT, invoice and packing list— and coordinate border clearance. We carry general cargo, palletized goods and industrial inputs to Santiago, Valparaíso and the rest of central Chile.

We have over 40 years crossing the Andes, with our own fleet authorized for international transit and drivers who know the pass in winter. When the pass closes for snow, we reschedule and keep you posted. Request your Chile crossing quote and we reply within 24 business hours.
